Our History


Anaerobic Digestion for wastewater facilities has been utilized for decades.

There have been dozens of different technologies and processes used to take advantage of the naturally occurring bacteria and its benefits.

Today there are a few popular technologies used; They include covered lagoons, plug flow, complete mix, and high rate systems.  

We have consulted on projects utilizing all of these designs. We understand the benefits and set backs with each.

We can optimize your current system and provide new systems that are custom fit for your application. 

At Andigen Ag we held the worldwide rights to the patented Induced Blanket Reactor technology developed at Utah State University by Dr. Conly Hansen.

We designed, installed, operated, and maintained these systems for years.

We have built on this anaerobic digestion experience to develop our current Optimized Mix Reactor (OMR) design.

What we learned building and operating the Induced Bed Reactor IBR has given us a great background in High Rate anaerobic digestion systems.

 High rate systems provide for an optimized bacteriological environment. This creates a higher concentration of the appropriate bacterial colonies in the appropriate places in the digester vessel. Which allows us to process more material in less time with a smaller footprint.  

We are able to drop the Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) and increase biogas production and quality.


Our Technology

The Andigen Ag Optimized Mix Reactor (OMR), is a melding of the high efficiency of the Induced Blanket Reactor (IBR) with the operational ease found with complete mix technologies.

Andigen Ag’s Optimized Mix Reactor (OMR) is the next step in anaerobic digester technology.

Our OMR Anaerobic digestion technology is less expensive and more robust. It is also easier to install and maintain.

Our systems are smaller and require a smaller footprint than other technologies.

Because of the High Rate origin of this technology we can process up to 5 times more material per day per digester volume than the other technologies.

We also have to heat and biologically maintain up to 75% less material. This makes OMR based anaerobic digesters more efficient. They have a smaller energy requirement and are easier to maintain.  More profit will go to your bottom line.

Pre Conditioning

Start on the Right Foot


Anaerobic digester efficiency is controlled by the quality of the material that is being fed into it.

 Its volatile solids content and their accessibility to the appropriate bacteria.

The pump-ability, particle size, temperature, ph, and the appropriate blending of the material(s) being fed into the digester all play a factor in how well it will perform.

 Through years of experience and study in these areas, we will design a procedure that will help maximize your digesters’ efficiency.

This is accomplished by getting to know your proposed input materials.

We do this using product testing and Anaerobic digestion optimization studies as part of what we do.

We will develop the appropriate digestion protocol for the material that will be used in your digester.

Heat Exchangers

An All-Star Team of Equipment


With our experience, we found that Heat Exchangers provided by others didn’t work that well in our application. This required us to develop a better one!

Our heat exchangers not only heat incoming material but are less expensive, designed to plug less, and are much easier to maintain and clean out if the need ever arises.

Through years of searching for the most efficient and effective equipment, we have developed an Allstar team of equipment and partners that play well together to maximize the digester. 

Which helps reduce headaches for workers and owners.

Post Digestion

Additional Products


More than one value stream

The anaerobic digestion process creates biogas as well as enhanced soil amendment products.

 The gas produced by the bacteria has many uses from electrical generation and CHP, to a clean gas that can be injected into your local natural gas pipeline.

 In the biogas scrubbing process, we can also pull high-quality CO2 and other trace gasses to generate alternative revenue streams.

The scrubbed biogas can also be converted into liquid fuels, Hydrogen, or even Graphene production if the markets become more feasible. 

The digestate; or the solids material that is left after digestion has finished, also has multiple uses.

It is a grade-A organic soil amendment right out of the Digester and can be directly land applied as-is.  

It can also be dried and sold in bulk or bagged to be used as a combined soil amendment and fertilizer.  

The digestate has also been used as a bedding material for cows and a medium for algae growth.

Another bi-product to Anaerobic Digestion is CO-2 which can be purified and sold as food grade CO-2.

Currently, the most valuable product from Anaerobic Digestion is the carbon credits/REC/RIN’s that can be used to help offset carbon-producing entities.
